The process of getting a 25 year old Risograph printer working again is not an easy or clean one. This project highlights the many hundreds of overprinted pages used to rehabilitate this vintage machine. Each print overlays test images in a random order. Some prints contain text aphorisms like “please work” others showcase the unique overprinted effects that are possible using this method of printing. The density and quality of the print varies as things break and are fixed. Images fade as ink runs out and improve as the machine in taken apart and reconstructed.
